Introducing the all new

In response to strong demand from the worlds sailing community for a smaller true blue water yacht that incorporates the key Kraken design principals, I set the task to Kevin Dibley, Kraken’s award-winning naval architect, and he has now designed the latest addition to our fleet: the Kraken 44.

The latest true bluewater yacht from Kraken

She will come with all the much-admired Kraken safety features as standard, including, the Zero keel, Alpha rudder system, Solent rig, triple tank fuel system and all of the many other, and often unique, features that have made Kraken Yachts the worlds premier cruising brand.

We will produce the Kraken 44 with two alternative rigs, the standard rig and a slightly shorter but still highly powered ICW (Intracoastal Waterway) rig as shown with the grey hull.

She will also benefit from the advances we have made in hybrid drive development in partnership with Combi electric drive motors.

A fundamental issue, that we have now solved with the inclusion of this hybrid drive system (which will be standard on the Kraken 44) is how to provide sufficient power for the comforts and resources we know are vital for comfortable long term life on board. Air-conditioning, high volume water maker, fridge and freezer and electric cooking, to name but a few, will also be standard on the K44. In line with our philosophy, all of what you need is standard, and most of what you will want, is standard too.

Such has been the improvement of hybrid drive technology that now the main engine, (likely to be a Yanmar 4JH57), when combined with the Combi 15kW electric drive motor will provide all on-board power, maintaining our belief that potentially dangerous gas cooking systems must always be avoided.

We are very pleased with the sleek and purposeful look of the latest addition to our fleet, which has been designed to be the perfect world cruising boat for two people and she will  accommodate two children, or two adult guests as well.

"The Kraken 44 is a true blue water cruising yacht with the DNA of her bigger sisters, the Kraken 50, 58 and 66.

Our brief was to create a 44-footer with Comfort, Seakindliness, Safety and Performance wrapped up in all the features that make her a Kraken including the Zero Keel and Alpha Rudder. No compromises were to be made on any of these key point. The Kraken 44 combines ease of handling, safety, high performance and luxury with a style and structural integrity that will set new standards for years to come.

We are proud to have worked with Kraken Yachts on their 50+ fleet and we are excited about this new venture into the under 50-foot market." Kevin Dibley, Naval Architect, Auckland, New Zealand

Pricing Information

We know cost is a significant factor for many aspiring world cruisers, so to help maximise our build efficiency we will focus on one four berth layout . Our design team is working on the layout now and we will send out an update on that as soon as possible.

Pricing for the standard K44 will be circa €779,000 – €850,000. This has increased a little from our original price forecast due to our inclusion now of Hybrid Drive and full Lithium batteries as standard. Please note; this is a very full Kraken ‘nothing further needed’ standard specification, and you can expect to sail her off the delivery dock to anywhere in the world, without spending anything further on the specifications.

It should be noted that what is already included in the Kraken 44 as standard, would normally add €200,000 – €250,000 in upgrades from other yacht builders.

We are waiting now for some final quotations from equipment suppliers, but, since we have now finalised the hull, deck, rig and sail plan we expect to be able to give a definitive sales price shortly, notwithstanding that, it will fall between €779,000 – €850,000.

We will shortly be opening a reservation list for build slots for the Kraken 44 and production time will begin late 2025 – early spring 2026.
